Stream-TV is Russia's largest regional pay-TV and broadband operator and is part of the Comstar United TeleSystems Group (Comstar-UTS), whose major shareholder is Sistema JSFC. The Stream-TV networks operate in 40 Russian cities and cover 3.5 million households.
STREAM-TV, a multimedia operator, was founded in September 2006. It included United Cable Networks, Esta Group, Sendi, Informservice, and a number of other companies, providing services in cities such as Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Perm, Saratov, Rostov-on-Don, Tver, Ulyanovsk, Kemerovo, Krasnodar, Astrakhan, Vologda, Voronezh, and others. In 2007, Stream-TV acquired KVT in Orel, TVK in Kursk, and Tambov-Telecom in Tambov.
All STREAM-TV operators have licenses required to provide Double Play services (pay TV + broadband Internet access), a number of companies also have a license for voice services.
"Stream-TV is actively developing and modernizing its networks in order to form its own multi-service network infrastructure based on HFC (Hybrid Fiber Coaxial) and FTTB (Fiber To The Building) technologies in each region of its presence to provide complex Triple Play services: telephony, high-speed Internet access and pay TV.
At the end of 2008 the total Stream-TV subscriber base reached 2.0 million users, and the number of subscribers to the Internet access service of the Group exceeded 200 thousand.
In the future all the branches and companies of Stream-TV will be integrated into the centralized branch structure of COMSTAR-OTS in six federal districts of Russia (Central, North-West, South, Volga, Ural, Siberian). It is also planned to gradually switch to a single brand "COMSTAR" in all regions of presence.
